Kara specializes in medical malpractice defense and has successfully defended health care professionals and institutions in complex medical malpractice actions for two decades. Kara represents insurers, hospitals, physicians, nurses, psychotherapists, dentists, emergency medical technicians, and other health care providers in civil actions in both state and federal courts. She has also represented charter schools in administrative matters.

Following law school, Kara completed a one-year clerkship with the Massachusetts Superior Court. Prior to practicing law, she was the Manager of Publicity for Earthwatch, a nonprofit environmental organization.
